Your facilitators AnneVanDurmen and Elizabeth Dejaegher are dynamic professionals with more than three decades of experience between them. Anne and Elizabeth live this full and rewarding lifestyle with great success, vibrancy and enthusiasm!


Since 1988, the main focus of the organization has been Yoga, Ashtanga, Hatha, Kripalu, Seniors Yoga, Mom and Baby Yoga, Beginners Yoga Teachers Training Course.   There is also an affiliation with the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging (UWO) as trainers in the 18 and 36 hours Seniors Fitness Instructors Course.  The Stellium Effect has successfully conducted classes with other various organizations including the City of London, The University of Western Ontario, Fanshawe College Continuing Education, Rogers Cable TV, Northern Telecom, Stratford Aerobic Club, Strathroy Lifestyle Heath Club, Tillsonburg Community Centre, The Multiple Sclerosis Society and Goodlife Clubs.

WHAT DOES STELLIUM MEAN?

Stellium literally means ‘a cluster of stars’ and therefore can be seen to represent a multiple conjunction or a ‘concentration of energy’.  An example would be a laser beam, which concentrates a tremendous amount of light into a tiny pinpoint burning a hole into anything in its path.  Thus, if you could learn specific techniques which would help you ‘concentrate your energy’, you could ‘burn a hole’ through your fears and anxieties and begin to live the best that life has to offer.


Planets or stars in a stellium act as a unit, giving an extraordinary emphasis on the energy derived.  “The Stellium Effect”, therefore is a concentration of the energy within ourselves onto the positive aspects of what we want from life and away from the impoverished programming we were taught as a child. The results? Typically, an amazing change in the way you perceive reality. You will develop a single-mindedness that creates a definite sense of direction and purpose in your life which could uncover hidden talents and even guilts. You become increasingly self-motivated and focused, with all your energies working as a unit to bring about the success and happiness you truly desire.

ARE YOU IN CONTROL OF YOUR DESTINY / LIFE?

You do have a choice, you know! You can continue to choose the script others have written for you. Or you can take charge and choose to write your own script! Sound impossible?  Think again.  We have all heard of the limitless powers of the super conscious mind, and the key to tapping this source is simple know-how and basic techniques that help you ‘concentrate your energy’ in order to discover hidden potentials and strengths within your own being. No one else can do this for you! Therefore, the first step is to dare to be an individual, to think for yourself and to make a conscious effort to choose your own destiny and live in peaceful, harmonic association with others.

UNITING BODY, SPIRIT AND MIND

But mastering the basic techniques is only the beginning.  In order to achieve total success, there must be a uniting of the ‘whole’ you – body, spirit and mind – to create a balance which allows you to open yourself up for success. To discover where you already stand, ask yourself these three questions. First, what type of food and physical activities are present in your life?  Second, what thoughts do you dwell on and feed into your mind on a moment by moment, day to day basis? Third, what nourishment, if any, are you using to feed your spiritual wellbeing?


The answers will give you clues which will help you with this cleansing process, and through Yoga and Visualizations you will become more aware of your body and its functions. Your mind will calm down and begin to uncover and exploit the limitless talents available through your superconscious mind.

You will learn to take hold of opportunities when they are presented and learn something valuable from each experience. Here is a simple technique – “When you don’t see an open door anywhere, still yourself, then turn your head to look over your shoulder and discover a ladder leading up to an open window”. In other words, there is always a way out of a situation if you know how to calm yourself long enough to find a creative solution.

Anne has been studying yoga since 1974.  In 1984 she enrolled in a Kripalu Beginners Yoga Teachers Training Course in Massachusetts. She is a trainer for the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging (CCAA) Seniors Fitness Instructor Course.

Elizabeth has been teaching yoga since May 1989. She is a trainer for the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging (CCAA) Senior Fitness Instructor Course.
